The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at Vivekanandha College of Engineering ground. The celebration began with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by flag hoisting by Chairman & Secretary Prof. Dr. M. Karunanithi. Students of VDCW and other Vivekanandha Educational Institutions took part in a vibrant march past, and the programme concluded with the National Anthem.
As part of the Tamil Nadu statewide oral health screening drive 2026, conducted by the Narcotics Control Bureau and the Indian Dental Association, VDCW organized screening camps in 10 schools across Namakkal, Salem, Omalur, Tiruchengode, Komarapalayam and Mallasamudram. A total of 3,879 students underwent comprehensive dental screening and were educated on oral hygiene, tooth-brushing techniques, and prevention of dental diseases.

A total of 234 individuals underwent dental screening and received education on oral hygiene, proper tooth-brushing techniques, and preventive dental care.
Vivekanandha Dental College for Women organized a Basic Life Support (BLS) Training Programme for IV BDS students and faculty from 22nd to 25th September 2026 with 80 participants. The camp focused on promoting oral health awareness among students and providing dental screening services to identify and address dental health concerns at an early stage. A total of 40 beneficiaries underwent dental screening and received education on oral hygiene practices, the importance of maintaining good oral health, and preventive measures for achieving healthy smiles and overall well-being.
A Career Guidance Programme was conducted at Vivekanandha Dental College for Women to enlighten students and interns about diverse career opportunities after dental education on 08.10.2026. The resource person, Ms. Roop Shikha from Dr. Bhatia eGurukul Coaching Institute, discussed career pathways, including clinical practice, postgraduate studies, academics, research, public health, hospital dentistry, and opportunities abroad. Guidance was also provided on entrance examinations, higher education, and career planning. The programme concluded with an interactive session addressing students’ queries regarding career choices and future prospects in dentistry.
