Being Dental College, With the aim of preventing and controlling oral diseases and promoting oral health, the specialty of preventive and community Dentistry has been providing training to B.D.S Students and is actively involved in Public Health Services.

385 Dental Camps were conducted in the last 3 years which 56,592 people were screened and many of them were provided with free treatment at the camp sites. Patients referred to the hospital are provided free treatment at the departments. Preventive programmed are conducted at the camp sites which include demonstration of brushing techniques, lectures on prevention, and control of common dental diseases like dental caries and gum diseases with the help peripheral centres are being run at Manickampalayam and Ernapuram, Namakkal District, catering to the needs of the surrounding people by providing the necessary dental treatment at minimal charges.
