Oral Health Awareness & Screening camp

We are happy to announce the successful completion of our screening camp at SPM Educational Institutions in Kozhikkalnatham on 20.07.2024. Over 355 students benefited from comprehensive health check-ups and screenings conducted by our dedicated team. Our efforts aim to promote early detection and intervention, ensuring better health outcomes for the youth in our community.

Career Guidance Program

On 19th July 2024, VDCW hosted a career guidance program for CRRI and Postgraduate students. We were honoured to have Mr. Mohamed Razzack from ACADEMICALLY Global Healthcare Academy, who shared valuable insights on becoming a registered dentist in Australia through the ADC Exams.

National Rapid Review & Updates in Oral Medicine and Radiology

Prof. Dr. M. Sudhaa Mani, Dept. of Oral Medicine and Radiology, delivered a Guest lecture on "Dental considerations of Medically Compromised Patients" in 8th National Rapid Review & Updates in Oral Medicine and Radiology at Sri Ramachandra Dental College and Hospital, Chennai on 18th July 2024.

Dental Camp was conducted at G Global School

On 05.07.2024, we hosted an amazing Oral Health Awareness and Screening Dental Camp at G Global School, Tiruchengode, Over 150 students aged 3 to 12 received dental check-ups and learned valuable tips on maintaining their oral health. Let's keep those smiles bright!

Oral Health Awareness & Screening camp

On the eve of National Public Health Dentist Day, we at VDCW held a special session for bus drivers to discuss the harmful effects of tobacco and its impact on oral health on 18.06.2024.
We also measured their CO levels and provided personalized counselling to help them quit smoking. Let's strive for a healthier future together!

World Blood Donor Day

On World Blood Donor Day, Youth Red Cross of VDCW hosted an inspiring "Awareness Program on Blood Donation" on 14.06.2024. Dr. Subbulakshmi, Ph.D., and Dr. Saranya, MDS, enlightened us on the life-saving impact of donating blood.

World Environment Day

Celebrating World Environment Day at Vivekanandha Dental College for Women on 05.06.2024.

CDE Program

The R & D cell of Vivekanandha Dental College for Women held a CDE program on "Funding Opportunities in Dental Research" on 23rd May 2024. Dr. Balagurunathan, Research Director at Vivekanandha Educational Institutions, shared insights on the research landscape in India, writing funding proposals, and collaborative research.

Celebrating World Hypertension Day 2024

In collaboration with NMC and Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, we dedicated a month to raising awareness about hypertension from May 17th to June 16th.

Our blood pressure monitoring station in the Oral Medicine and Radiology Department educated patients on the crucial importance of maintaining healthy blood pressure levels.

Our future dental professionals engaged in enlightening orientation lectures, emphasizing the significance of detailed medical histories and the management of hypertensive patients.

Students joined in the awareness campaign with a creative selfie booth, spreading essential health messages.

CDE Program

In celebration of World Orthodontic Health Day, the Department of Orthodontics at VDCW hosted an online webinar on "Cleft Lip & Palate - Recent Update" on 17th May 2024, from 2 PM to 3 PM. We were honored to have Dr. Dhivakar Selvaraj, MDS, as our guest speaker. The session was insightful and well-received by all staff members, PGs, and CRRIs who attended via Google Meet. Additionally, we conducted oral health care sessions for orthodontic patients in our department from 14th May to 17th May 2024.

Oral Health Awareness & Screening camp

VDCW organized a dental camp at Sathya Sai Mandir in Tiruchengode on 16.05.2024. During this event, patients were screened for various oral hygiene-related issues. Additionally, a breath analyzer was used to screen smoker patients, providing a comprehensive assessment of their oral health.

VDCW proudly celebrated National Oral Medicine and Radiology Day on 24.04.2024 with the theme: Revolutionizing Smiles: Innovate ! Illuminate !! Radiate !!! From an electrifying e-poster competition on "Novel Therapies for Oral Mucosal Lesions" to captivating face painting focusing on "Oral Cancer," every moment was filled with awareness and creativity!

National CONS ENDO Day

On the occasion of National CONS ENDO Day, Our Team ODS of Vivekanandha Dental College for Women takes the pride of conducting the “Rotary Endodontics!”- Hands on program for the first of its kind benefitting Faculties, PGs, CRRIs from various departments. The participants were refreshed with back to back lectures followed by one-on-one hands on. This two days Endodontics continuum - 2024 exclusively dealt with the basics in rotary endodontics essential for a clinician in day to day practice.

AAID Symposium

Dr. S. Shankar, Professor of VDCW, was the Keynote Speaker in AAID Symposium: Delivered a Lecture on Full Arch Implant Treatment on 02.03.2023 at Chennai.

CDE program

CDE program was conducted on the occasion of National Oral Pathologist Day on 26.02.2024. Prof. Dr. Maya Ramesh from Vinayaga Missions Dental College and Prof. Dr. Yamunadevi from the Nandha Dental College were the Guest Speakers. The Chief Guest of Honour, Prof. Dr. S. Murali, (Former HOD, VMSDC) graced the occasion and distributed the prizes for the winners of the competition.

Dental Screening Camp

Dental Screening Camp was conducted at Puthu Pulliyampatti on 26.02.2024 for Government Primary School Students in collaboration with Arulmigu Arthanareeswarar Arts & Science College and JCI Tiruchengode Divine. Our Dental team conducted this camp which benefitted around 100 subjects.

National Periodontist Day

On the occasion of National Periodontist Day, “Perio Symposium on Implant Site Development" was conducted on 23.02.2024. Guest Speakers were Dr. Esther Nalini, from KSR Dental College, Dr. V. Gopinath from VDCW and Dr. Muthu Kumar from Sri Ramachandra Dental College.

On the occasion of International Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons' Day (13-02-2024), CDE program was conducted on Medical Emergencies in Dental Practice. Guest Speaker was Dr Kannan Balaraman, from Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore.

On 23.01.2024, Oral Health Awareness & Screening camp was conducted by Vivekanandha Dental College for Women at Chettinad Vidya Mandir School, Karur. Our principal delivered the Guest Lecture on Oral Health. Team of Faculty members with enthusiastic PGs & CRRIs conducted this camp in which around 900 students & staffs were benefitted.

Anti-Ragging Workshop

On the 12th January 2024, Friday, “Anti-Ragging Workshop” was conducted for the students of the Vivekanandha Dental College for Women as per DCI mandate from 2pm to 3.30pm.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Nidarsh D Hedge, Member of Dental Council of India, explained to the students, what exactly constitutes ragging, why is it a criminal offence and who is liable to be prosecuted for it.

The take home message of this workshop is that the ragging is strictly frowned upon in this institution and will be dealt with severe consequences, if anyone is found guilty of indulging in it.

Director of Dental & Paramedical Institutions, Dr. (Capt.) S. Gokulanathan congratulated them for bringing laurels to the institution!

Pedoconverse

Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry conducted a CDE programme titled Pedoconverse on 4.1.2024. The invited guest speakers were Dr.Uma Maheswari and Dr.Padmanabhan Yuvaraj. Dr Uma Maheswari delivered the lecture on “I’m Tickled Pink- Renovate Pediatric Dentistry” and Dr.Padmanabhan Yuvaraj enlightened the audience on “Transcending behavioural barriers with sedation-Clinical Perspectives.”
