Two-day Screening & Awareness Camp

Vivekanandha Dental College for Women successfully conducted an oral screening camp at Shri Renga Vidyalaya School, Rayarpalayam, on June 24 and 25, 2025. The initiative aimed to promote oral health awareness and early detection of disease among school children.

Smiling Bharat

The Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Vivekanandha Dental College for Women, organized the National Orthodontic Diagnostic Drive in association with the South West Tamil Nadu Orthodontic Study Group (SWTNOSG), under the initiative of the Indian Orthodontic Society. The event highlighted our continued commitment to improving oral health, raising awareness, and delivering quality community care through collaboration and professional engagement.

Dental Awareness and Screening Camp

On June 22, 2025, Vivekanandha Dental College for Women (VDCW) conducted a Dental Awareness and Screening Camp at Manali, Jedarpalayam, in collaboration with Namakkal Silambam Mutha Asan Nasangam and Bharathamadha Silambam Payirchi Mayam. A total of 104 participants benefited from comprehensive dental check-ups and oral health education. The camp aimed to promote better oral hygiene and increase awareness about preventive dental care in the community.

International Yoga Day

On June 21, 2025, Vivekanandha Dental College for Women joyfully celebrated International Yoga Day, embracing the global theme "Yoga for One Earth, One Health." The event featured a revitalizing yoga session led by Dr. Aarthi and her dedicated team from Swamy Vivekanandha Naturopathy and Yoga Medical College. Their expert guidance helped participants experience the therapeutic benefits of yoga. Our students actively took part in the session with great enthusiasm, fostering a collective spirit of wellness. The celebration emphasized the importance of integrating yoga into daily life as a path to holistic health, harmony with nature, and mindful, balanced living.

National Public Health Dentistry Day

On the occasion of National Public Health Dentistry Day, celebrated on June 19, 2025, Vivekanandha Dental College for Women organized a series of engaging student activities, including a drawing competition, slogan contest, and quiz competition. These events aimed to foster creativity, raise awareness about public health dentistry, and promote active student participation. The initiative provided a platform for students to express their ideas, enhance their knowledge, and reinforce the importance of oral health in community well-being.

World No Tobacco Day

To create awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco use and to educate the public on the importance of quitting tobacco for a healthier life, in observance of World No Tobacco Day we have conducted the following events from May 29 – June 3, 2025

• Continuing Dental Education Program on Tobacco Cessation: Expert-led sessions on quitting strategies.
• Awareness Rally: Organized by IDA, Tiruchengode to promote a tobacco-free message.
• Dental Camps at Nithra Apps & GM Textiles: Oral screening and counseling on tobacco cessation.

Stress Management

In May 2025, our Skill Development Center conducted a Stress Management course for our III BDS students, teaching, and non-teaching faculty, focusing on stress triggers, relaxation techniques, time management, and mindfulness to promote well-being and productivity.

Photoshop and Editing

A Hands-on Workshop on Digital Skills (Photoshop and editing) was successfully conducted for the teaching and non-teaching faculty of our college in the month of May 2025. The program was organized and conducted by the Skill Development Center, enabled participants to acquire skills in photo editing, graphic design, and visual creation using Adobe Photoshop.

MS Office

The Skill Development Center conducted a comprehensive MS Office program in May 2025 for IV BDS students and non-teaching faculty, covering Word processing, Excel data analysis, and Power Point presentation design to boost computer skills and productivity.

Dental Screening Camp

A dental camp conducted by Vivekananda dental team at Government Hr Sec School, Namakkal, organised by Sarvam Educational Trust was a successful outreach initiative, fulfilling its objectives of promoting oral health awareness and providing essential dental care to the community. Both the college and the foundation expressed interest in continuing such collaborative efforts in the future.

13th Graduation Ceremony

The 13th graduation ceremony of Vivekanandha Dental College for Women, Tiruchengode was held on 26th April 2025. Prof. Dr. M. Karunanithi, Chairman and Secretary, Vivekanandha Educational Institutions presided over the event Prof. Dr. S. M. BALAJI,M.D.S., MFDS RCPS (Glasg). FDS RCPS (Glasg). Ph.D., D.Sc. (Hon).,Director,Balaji Dental, Craniofacial Hospital & Research Institute, India. was our esteemed chief guest. We celebrated the achievements of 97 BDS Under graduates and 18 MDS Post graduates, sharing this proud moment with their joyous families

Digital Dental Photography

A CDE program on Digital Dental Photography was organized by Department of Orthodontics & Media Club (Photography) on April 22 & 23, 2025 at our college for CRRI’s , Postgraduates and faculties. Practical hands-on session was conducted for Postgraduates of various departments of our college.

Our resource person, Dr. Nirmal R Madhavan, MDS, PhD, FIAOMP has passion for black and white photography which made him a vivid portrait and wildlife photographer. Currently, he is the resource person for many dental photography workshops.

National Oral Health Program

To mark the World Oral Health Month (20.03.2025-20.04.2025), a series of impactful events were organized to promote oral hygiene and awareness. Dental professionals participated in a pledge-taking ceremony, reinforcing their commitment to public oral health. Educational outreach included public health camps, a free denture camp, and awareness sessions. Engagement activities such as a quiz for professionals, a memes competition for students, and a selfie booth boosted participation. The month-long celebration successfully united professionals and the public in advancing oral health.

Animal House Field Visit

On 8th April 2025, a field visit was organized for Second Year BDS students to the Animal House facility at Government Veterinary College, Namakkal.

Students had the opportunity to observe animal care procedures and understand the importance of animal models in scientific and medical research to give them training on maintenance of animals for their research purposes.

Dental screening & awareness camp

Vivekanandha Dental College for Women organized an Oral health awareness and screening Camp at the Trinity Academy school, Namakkal on 8th April, 2025. A total of 182 students & staff were screened, and oral health awareness pamphlets were distributed.

Functional English Program

Functional English program, designed to enhance students' communication skills and professional etiquette was conducted for our first-year students in the month of April 2025. The program covered essential topics such as emotional intelligence, effective communication, and career-building skills. The program was conducted by our Skill Development Centre.

Dental screening camp

The dental camp conducted by Vivekananda Dental College for Women at Pallipalayam organised by Manjal foundation on 06.04.2025 was a successful outreach initiative, fulfilling its objectives of promoting oral health awareness and providing essential dental care to the community. Both the college and the foundation expressed interest in continuing such collaborative efforts in the future.

Free Dental Camp at Sivagiri!

We hosted a Public Health Camp at Sivagiri Kongu Kalyana Mandapam, in collaboration with NSS of Erode Arts & Science College and Manjal Foundation. The event, presided over by Erode MP Mr. Prakash, provided free dental check-ups and health screenings, promoting oral hygiene and preventive care. A big thanks to everyone who contributed to spreading smiles and wellness in our community!

Promoting Oral Health in Young Minds! 🦷 On 22nd March 2025, VDCW conducted an oral health awareness and screening camp at Mahadev Vidhyalaya Middle School, Tiruchengode. Thirty students, aged 6 to 12 years, received dental check-ups, tips for maintaining oral health, and enjoyed interactive games. Gifts were distributed to inspire healthy habits and smiles!

Workshop on Scientific Writing

Empowering Scientific Excellence at VDCW! 📖 A proud moment for VDCW as 54 faculty members and PG students participated in a two-day CDE program on Mastering Scientific Writing, held on 14th and 15th March 2025 at The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai. Adding to the honour, our Principal, Dr. S. Nagalakshmi, served as one of the chairpersons for the hands-on session, where she shared her expertise on crafting original research articles.

Dr. J. Dinesh Shankar, Professor in the Department of Oral Pathology, was the Chief Guest at the National Oral Pathologist Day celebration held at Best Dental Science College, Madurai on February 25th, 2024.
